Cholesterol is transported through your blood stream by lipoproteins. There are two different types of lipoproteins:
LDL(low-density lipoproteins): LDL is known as your “bad” cholesterol.
HDL(high density lipoprotein): HDL is known as the “good” cholesterol.

160-189 mg/dL High
190 mg/dL Very High
An HDL of ≥60 mg/dL gives some protection against heart disease.
